An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until 10 November 2017
Having a new baby is one of the most amazing (and scary) things in life.
There’s so much to learn. So many new things to get used to. Never sleeping. Feeding another hungry mouth. It can be exhausting!
This course will help you to care for your baby and yourself.
More than 80 other mums have taken this course. Time and again, we’ve seen them go on to do amazing things. Some have taken up great new jobs. Others have enrolled in study. All of them have become kinder and more confident mums with better lives in their community.
Have you ever seen the looks on your family’s faces as you pull a big roast out of the oven? It’s a really satisfying feeling.
Home cooked food is cheap, healthy and fun to cook. Of course, you need some basic cooking skills – and that’s what you’ll gain on this course.
Don’t you get annoyed by those celebrity mums who look so darn good after their pregnancy?
For the rest of us – that’s just not realistic! All the same, we can still help you get into an exercise habit. One that you actually enjoy. And that doesn’t injure your baby…
When you become a mum, it makes sense to put your job and career on the backburner. But it can still be helpful to have career goals to work towards.
We can tailor the course so you receive NZQA Unit Standards, and help you work towards a further qualification.
Making it from one paycheck or benefit payment to the next. It becomes even harder when you have another kid. You’ve got another mouth to feed, less money coming in the door and less time to think about money.
This course will teach you some ways to save money and set a budget. So you can spend more on the things you love. You might not be at Kim Kardashian levels at the end of it, but you’ll be able to do more with what you do have.
Reading to your kids is a great way for your kids to wind down at the end of the day. There’s nothing like settling down to read them a story or two.
With a bit of practise and some supportive tutors, you’ll be reading like this kid before you know it.
Those first few months of having a baby can be pretty exhausting. You’re getting little sleep. Your usual routine goes out the door. You feel moody and frustrated.
All that is totally normal.
On this course, you’ll learn what to expect when your baby is growing up. And some proven strategies to make things easier.
It’s on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am to 2:30pm. It’s a 10 week course so there’s plenty of time to get to know the other mums and their kids.
Most of the time we’ll be at the All Saints Church in the centre of Nelson City.
