Fresh Tracks – A Fresh Direction for Young Men (12 weeks, starting 20 March)
18 April 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
The chance to make fresh tracks
Fresh Tracks gives young men the chance to set a fresh direction for their lives. Adventure meets goal setting and life skills. It’s a fun and free course for young men to help you make good choices and succeed in your life. Get outdoors and work towards something exciting.
Who’s it for?
Fresh Tracks is for young men who are looking to make a fresh start with their lives. You’ll be aged between 17 and 21 (although we can take people outside those ages). You’re not in tertiary study and you’re not currently employed.
Get a support crew behind you
It’s not easy to change the direction of your life, and that’s why it’s so important to have the right team supporting you along the way. With no more than 8 people on Fresh Tracks, you’ll make good mates to help you achieve your goals.
Learn skills for life
We know the world can be a scary place sometimes. It’s hard to know what to do with your life.
We’ll help you set goals for your life and achieve them. You’ll learn the skills to get your life on the right track. We’ll cover things like:
- How to get a job
- Looking after a house and car
- Using computers and the internet
- Reading, writing, speaking and listening
- Making a budget
- Getting fit and staying in shape
- How to cook a mean feed for your family and your mates.
We won’t be sitting around in a classroom all day. We’ll be out doing fun stuff, like
- Caving, kayaking or tramping
- Learning to box with Victory Boxing
- Rock climbing
- Racing with Waka Ama
- Learning how to save lives through first-aid.
Increase your confidence
Fresh Tracks is all about gaining the confidence to move in a new direction. Some things will put you out of your comfort zone. But maybe you’ll find out that you’re an awesome cook? Or a world class boxer?
Everybody is good at something! You’ll find out about your ninja skills.
