English Language Night Class (Starts 13 February 2018)
12 April 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Enrolments are now open for our 2018 English Language Night Class for people in work.
If you have recent migrants or former refugees at your work, this is the course for them. They have so much to offer our region. Some are highly skilled workers who just need the English language skills so they can once again put their skills to work.
What will we cover?
Small group tuition that helps everybody to learn
We never have more than six learners to one tutor. This means your employees will get the individual support they need to make real progress with English. And, the regularity of the course means they won’t just forget everything they learned. When the course ends, they are welcome to continue working with us to take the English to the next level.
A mix of language for work and home life
We’ve found that people prefer it when they learn the language for both work and home. Most recent migrants and refugees want to become part of their community, so they are motivated to learn English to progress at work and to meet other folk in their home life.
Beginner level – for people who speak little English
Our tutors always tailor the course content based on the needs of the learners in front of them. This course will be focused on basic spoken and written language. Things like “Hello, my name is…” “I’m sorry, I don’t understand…” “I would like…”
Sounds awesome. It must cost a lot.
Nope, it’s FREE for New Zealand citizens or permanent residents working full or part-time, and who don’t have NCEA Level 2 or above. We are funded by the Tertiary Education Commission to deliver literacy and numeracy education to people in New Zealand workplaces.
